2021 has been a busy year for CADS' retail, drawing and surveying teams. Here is our annual video with a flavour of what's been happening.

We kicked off the year ....

… by embarking on a rebrand journey where C A Design Services would become CADS with new branding, website, email and domain: cadsonline.com and we continued to offer the same great service with a fresh new look – with the new branding courtesy of our associated company Prosper.

So while the rebrand was taking place behind the scenes, what else happened?

Firstly we’d like to thank all our clients – we couldn’t have done it without you!

English Housing Surveys delivered with COVID-adjusted protocols

In a year curtailed by COVID, English Housing Surveys were delivered successfully with COVID-adjusted protocols. Once again CADS hosted the New Surveyor Briefing at Warwick University with 23 new surveyors joining our existing English Housing Survey team to make 150.

Another record year in retail planning

We grew our team to deliver another record year in retail planning and promotions for our existing team. Sainsburys renewed their retail planning contract and we delivered the busiest range review calendar ever for Morrisons, along with some exciting projects for Asda.

While our fab retail team got to grips with Waitrose’ new planning software. We’ve also loved working with our new colleagues inside B&Q and we continue to do so throughout lockdown.

Undertook a whole host of surveying projects

Our busy team of surveyors undertook a whole host of surveying projects for a variety of clients including instore surveys for supermarket giant Morrisons, measured building surveys at London’s Historic Camden Market for Labtech, electrical vehicle rollout surveys for installation points at 13 transportation hubs.

And also produced some detailed 3D models along the way including Scunthorpe Steel Works, Hawley Crescent, Ridge Avenue Library. We also invested in a Matterport scanner to assist with our virtiual tour surveying capabilities.

StoreSpace rollout for Shell and new clients

We continued the StoreSpace rollout for Shell, Sainsburys updated to the latest StoreSpace migrating 1700 supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol filling stations. That’s a lot of space!

Talking of Space … StoreSpace …. we released version 1.12, renewed our membership of the Nielsen Connected Partner Network and forged new relationships with a range of clients including Grupo Ramos, Apotek Hjartat, Pizza Express, Hendersons and Bouwmaat.

Remember the rebrand?

In July it became a reality with a new brand identity for us and StoreSpce and StoreView got an upgrade with stylish new branding and an improved user interface. We also added new features in version 1.13.

For StoreView we are into our 5th year of pre and post-store refresh surveys for Asda and completed 200 StoreViews for Pets at Home in a seven-week period.

Hybrid working becomes business as usual

In a year when we were still affected by COVID lockdowns and partial reopenings, our collaborative culture rings true in the staff survey. We celebrated lots of anniversaries and introduced our new hybrid working policy successfully, as well as a new licence model with Autodesk. Moved to a new office in Leeds with the IT infrastructure relocated to Great Yarmouth.

Merry Christmas!

We achieved fantastic efficiency in our financial audit with statements signed off in August – a CADS record! It has also seen us deliver double-digit growth in turnover.

Ending the year on a high with a well-deserved Christmas party.

Thanking all our clients, colleagues and partners for a fantastic 2021 and wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2022.
