Find out about working at CADSVicky joined the CADS’ marketing team in October 2022 with nearly two decades years experience in email marketing, B2B, shows and events as well as lead generation and social media.
She’s also been involved marketing for and attending the Chelsea Flower Show, the Boat Show, the Education Show and Crufts.
Outside of work Vicky enjoys travelling to new countries and cities and attending gym classes weekly. She has also made an amazing 49 blood donations since her Uni days – thats a lot of blood – nearly 5 bodies worth!
I am supported in my role with an induction process, internal and external training on marketing software and processes to progress my career. The company offers part time, flexible and home working opportunities which is an important aspect to me as a primary carer.
I chose a career in marketing because it offers an interesting variety of workload, software and programme uses, creativity, copyrighting, and analysis. I can use my skills in influencing, networking, sales and analysis. I also like to be involved in end-to-end projects rather than working on a small part of a larger process, so marketing allows me to see processes and projects through to the end.
It is important that more women work in creative and technology roles to move away from stereotypical thinking and even out the currently unequal balance of female managers and directors in the UK.
Marketing is a very interesting industry to work in as it changes and progresses every single day and we are all exposed to its effects in our daily lives. Whether it is buying a special offer product on the end aisle in a supermarket, to using a website or social media, to reading an advert in a bus shelter, we are exposed daily to hundreds of brands marketing themselves to us. If you like variety in your role, then marketing is a great career choice with many different aspects.
Many female careers are held back because they are primary carers and are therefore restricted with the hours they can work eg during school hours. In the past females have not been taken seriously in their career because they worked part time, and this can often limit their ability to progress and succeed.
However CADS supports its employees with flexible working options and promotes from within to progress careers.
It’s a celebration of women’s achievements, challenging the expected and the norm. It encourages career changes and inspires young women to think outside the box about their career choices.
