Jade joined CADS’ in 2022, working within the Convenience team, where she applied her AutoCAD knowledge from her Interior Architecture degree to support the team across a range of projects.

Alongside her role, she is also proud to be a Mental Health Champion, helping to promote awareness and encouraging open conversations around wellbeing in the workplace.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

The 2026 IWD theme of “Give To Gain” encourages generosity and collaboration. For me, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women, supporting each other and making sure everyone feels confident and valued at work and outside of it.

How does CADS support your training and career choice?

CADS has given me access to great training, helping me build my planning skills and confidence. It’s meant I can take on projects more confidently and keep developing in my career.

Why did you choose to work in the technology industry?

I chose to work in the tech industry because I’ve always enjoyed space planning and designing layouts. Working in tech allows me to use those skills with tools like AutoCAD and StoreSpace to solve problems and bring clients ideas to life.

In your opinion, why is it important that more women become involved in the technology industry?

It’s so important for women to get into tech because it brings different ideas and perspectives.

I feel really lucky to work with such amazing women who inspire and support each other. Hopefully, more girls and women can see that tech can be for them too!

What do you think is the biggest issue facing women in your industry?

One of the biggest challenges across the industry is still equality, especially around things like pay and progression.

It is great to see more open conversations happening and things moving in the right direction, but there’s always more we can do to make sure women feel valued and supported in their careers. Hopefully we keep pushing for positive change!

I’m really proud to be a Mental Health Champion and be in a position to support my colleagues.

Growing into a Project Support Planner role and building my confidence over time has been very rewarding, helping me feel more comfortable supporting others and contributing to the team.

What advice would you give to a woman considering working in the tech industry?

Don’t doubt yourself or wait until you feel ‘ready’. Ask lots of questions, take on as many training opportunities you can and believe in yourself. Everyone must start somewhere!
