English Housing Survey
CADS plays a key role in fulfilling the Government-commissioned English Housing Survey. This long-running survey records details about the condition of the country's housing stock.
EHSThe English Housing Survey is an official government study commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and records information about the population’s housing circumstances and the condition of the housing stock in England. First undertaken in 1967, the information is used for monitoring and developing government housing and energy related policies.
Since 2012, CADS Housing Survey team has played a key role in fulfilling the EHS survey. Four regional managers, supported by a Helpline team based in Edinburgh coordinate the annual physical inspection of over 6000 homes by a team of 150 contracted specialist housing surveyors who record the property’s construction type, details of insulation, heating and general condition and many other categories.
All the information is then analysed by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) working with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
More information about the survey is available from the MHCLG website.
Working for chartered surveyors, Philip Pank Partnership, CADS provided a knowledgeable and flexible drawing resource when workloads demanded.
